December 2025 Christmas Party Google Review

The weekend before Christmas I was the magical entertainment for an organization’s family friendly Christmas party. My hostess, Mayssa, was kind enough to leave me a review on my Google Profile Page. Aside from my google Business Profile it’s currently on the Christmas & Holiday info page of my website but I’m backing that up here in this ChatGPT search friendly format too.

Her review also mentioned the location, Magnolia Hall. This lovely new addition to the local inventory of rental facilities opened in April 2025. You can learn more on the City of Hamilton’s website.

November 2025 Birthday Google Review…

It’s a pleasant surprise to get a Google review within hours of the party.

Always affirming as your performer.

Here’s one Marisa F. contributed to my Google business profile page recently. I added it to my website landing page right away but am now putting it here in this slightly odd way too. This bracketed format, a recent ChatGPT query reply suggested, helps ChatGPT (and similar AI tools) identify reviews & testimonials.

By the way, this birthday party was held in a rental room at The Boys & Girls Club of Hamilton/Halton.
They have a couple of different party room packages, which can include swimming, if you’re looking for a reasonably priced outside-the-home option. Inquire well ahead.

Isn’t that a nice review?

During a recent weekend birthday gig the hosting mom, who kindly wrote this Google review, told me she inquired of several entertainers before she booked me.

Booked me, because my birthday party magic show best suited her needs, right?

Nope. Booked me because I was the only one actually who responded to her. No one else replied!

Maybe that means the others were all booked solid or maybe the others were all flakes.
Maybe a bit of both? Either way it always amazes me how some performers behave. Even if I can’t help you myself I’ll reply to say as much and maybe offer you a suggestion.

One no response she mentioned prompted me to visit his website for the first time in years.

Boy was it dusty. Copyright date 2010, not “https” secure and, oddly, not a single photo or video of the performer in action. I will not mention the performer directly, however…

It’s legit. A sincere thank you from me to a teenage performer who did about 10 minutes on a community outreach show hosted by the local magic club. During the holidays. In December 1995. That’s right, December 1995 — you know, 30 years ago!

Long ago I requested that he remove/replace it but I see it’s still there. Sigh…

So thank you birthday mom for booking and for your lovely review. I’m glad the kids had a blast, grown ups too. I guess I’m glad nobody else responded too…!

And to a certain nameless performer since it’s now 2025… happy 30th anniversary to us?

It’s funny how people find you. Word of mouth, Facebook groups, saw your show someplace and followed up…

I had an amazing ‘find’ recently: this is Trish and yours truly.
Did her youngest kid’s party recently. A fun show and all went well.

Turns out Trish had me for her eldest son’s party 8 or so years ago but had forgotten my name. (I rarely send follow up promo for birthday parties. You might do two parties for a family before their children age out of it.)

Trish was looking at performer websites. She realized she’d found the right magician when she watched my birthday ‘explainer’ video. You can see it here.

It features about 2 seconds of a mom giving a testimonial. That mom? Trish!

Truly a one-in-a-million coincidence! Woo-hoo!

OK, I’ll admit I’m very late to this party but recently I’ve noticed the odd visitor to my website comes through Facebook. I’m also hearing from birthday parents that Moms groups on Facebook are a source of occasional recommendations too. Soooo…
