OWOW Magic Festival Returns!

In October 2019 it was my pleasure to perform at the OWOW Magic Festival.

(Blog post about my prior involvement here. Fun video of me from the event here.)

Well, after a 2 year Covid-19 hiatus, the OWOW returns with a schedule which again thoughtfully includes a family matinee. I’m not part of the line-up this time but that’s OK, it’s going to be a great show for families.

This matinee show will run about an hour; just about right length for families with kids. Afterwards it’ll still be daylight. Plenty of time to explore Fergus, Ontario, see the Elora Gorge and enjoy the fall colours.

A great autumn road trip possibility for the family. Ticket info here.

BTW, the OWOW Magic Festival activities are part of a larger Centre Wellington Township event called Monster Month which features ghost walks, a costume parade and other ♫ spooooky ♫ community events.

Monster Month event schedule here.

Meanwhile, at the Burlington Performing Arts Centre…

I didn’t know about this event until the other day but my boosterism, like “the show,” must go on!

Have mentioned Carisa Hendrix, better known by her alter ego Lucy Darling, previously on this blog. Neat person, wonderful performer. (See related links at bottom of this post. You’re in for some treats if you do.)

Well, turns out she’s appearing at the Burlington Performing Arts Centre in Burlington, Ontario, on October 29/21. A magical addition to their fall schedule and a wonderful live entertainment choice for those in Southern Ontario. Also a live stream entertainment possibility for those further afield regardless of time zone.

BPAC has ticket options for in-person attendance or via live stream at home. Vaccination requirements for in-person patrons; see the BPAC website link above for details.

Great night out, or, great night in!

Shaw Fest-on-the-Home-Front — Stuff to do #19

Love the Shaw Festival. See at least one production every season and one of their long standing actors, Jay Turvey, worked along side me in a grocery store when we were teens. No visits this year alas. Most of their 2020 season has been cancelled as of this writing but hope abounds for 2021…
In the meantime they have produced a wonderful collection of ‘Home Front’ content for patrons and friends to enjoy.
You can find a range of fun videos here including (gasp!) a pretty good magic trick! Shaw’s email list is worthy of your attention.

Online Magic Show! — Stuff to do #16

How’s the social distancing going? I know, right!
Niagara Falls magician Greg Frewin is back with a 4th edition of his popular online magic show collaboration. Wednesday, May 13th at 7:00 pm. Magical talents from across North America. Woot!

YouTube link here or click image below. Link goes live on Wednesday night.
Free to view with any donated proceeds to benefit the Niagara SPCA, a charity close to Greg’s heart.

Online Magic Show! — Stuff to do #13

I’m up to a baker’s dozen for these stay-at-home suggestions and here’s another family friendly event for the housebound hoards…

Greg Frewin and friends are back for a 3rd live stream magic show tomorrow evening, April 29/20, at 7:00 pm Eastern. Looks like a great line-up including internationally know magicians.

Again free with any donated proceeds to benefit the Niagara SPCA.

Frewin’s event is a YouTube live stream thingy. Click below on Wednesday night although you may need to click thru to YT proper to see it. No biggie, I hope.
