5 seconds of me! — Stuff to do #17

Was recently asked by Brent & Sarah, a dynamic magical performing duo, to join numerous other Canadian magicians for a charitable compilation video. 5 seconds max was the request. Well, I came in at 5:01! Snort!
This thingy is a wee bit long for a compilation but if you’ve got nothing to do for the next 8 minutes then take a gander.
A well dressed, well lit performer appears at about 6:20. Modesty prevents me from mentioning his name. Cough, cough, ahem, ahem…!

More Podcast for Kids! — Stuff to do #15

Last blog post featured the Story Pirates podcast. Here’s another fun podcast listen for kids during our social isolation roller coaster. This one courtesy of the American public broadcaster National Public Radio.

Called Wow In The World it consists of shorter ‘game show’ style episodes about 10 minutes long along with longer in-depth episodes running about 30 minutes.

All feature comically presented educational content for kids. Worthy of a look for parents.

Podcast for kids! — Stuff to do #14

I’m a big fan of podcasts. Been an avid listener for about 8 years. Here’s an fun choice for families with kids…

Story Pirates is a great podcast which takes stories from kids and brings them to life as ‘radio’ plays. (Am I mixing genres when I say radio plays?!) They even toss in the odd joke or two for the big kids.
Explore their website. Much more than just the podcast to check out.

Bored Games? — Stuff to do #11

Are you surviving these strange times? Personally I need my barber but at this point would settle for your dog groomer…!

I have mentioned the wonderful aggregator site, Kottke.org, before. Lots of fascinating posts covering a broad range of topics.

A recent link was to a list of online resources for those into board games, card games and puzzles.

It’s a Google doc and you can see it by clicking here.

Old favourites and new challenges; there’s bound to be something for every Social Isolationist’s (is that a real name yet? barf!) interest be it individual or family.
